Comeback è un album di Eric Burdon pubblicato nel 1982, durante il progetto del film Comeback. In pratica era la colonna sonora del film. Le tracce live registrate durante le sessioni sono state in seguito riportate su disco.
È stato ripubblicato diverse volte sotto il nome di Crawling King Snake and The Road. La Comeback Soundtrack (con studio e brani dal vivo) è stata pubblicata nel 1994.

Ottimo lavoro con un Jimmy in forma, lavoro essenziale per chiunque sia innamorato degli spettacoli dal vivo di Buffett, o anche per il fan occasionale che cerca di espandersi al di là di Songs You Know by Heart.

Coconut Telegraph è il decimo album di Jimmy.
Non posso dire che è un brutto album e in effetti è piuttosto piacevole e ascoltabile, ma non sento nessun vero momento di qualità superiore, qualcosa che tutti i suoi album più vecchi avevano . Quindi, un buon album, ma lontano da un classico.

Figlio di un figlio di un marinaio ha raggiunto il numero 10 sulla tabella degli album di Billboard 200 e il numero 6 sul chart Billboard Top country Album.
L’album è stato anche certificato “Platinum” dal RIAA. Curatissimo nell’incisione e negli arrangiamenti, conferma la versatilità di questo personaggio che affascina fin dal primo ascolto.

Ottimo e essenziale documento dell’Urban Folk tra la fine degli anni ’50 e l’inizio degli anni ’60, così come per le radici della New Left degli anni ’60. Pete Seeger già leader e un giovane Bob Dylan in un duetto … Dylan in un classico due voci contro la guerra con Joan Baez … importanti giovani artisti svelati, tra cui Tom Paxton e Phil Ochs…, canzoni del lavoro di Jim Garland … classici del movimento per i diritti civili radicati nel leggendario movimento Freedom Riders … una delle grandi canzoni pacifiste, dal quasi dimenticato Sam Hinton … e altro ancora.
Sono decisamente canzoni del loro tempo ma sarebbe sbagliato pensare che siano datate: la loro rilevanza e i loro temi sono altrettanto importanti per gli ascoltatori di oggi, rendendo questo LP una testimonianza che non dovrebbe mai essere trascurata.

Me Myself I è il sesto album di Joan ed è stato il più alto piazzamento di sempre della Armatrading sia nel Regno Unito (n.5) che negli Stati Uniti (n.28). In Australia, l’album ha raggiunto il picco al 13 °. È stato certificato “Gold” nel Regno Unito dal BPI nel luglio 1980.
“Me myself i” è un album dalle mille faccie:la Armatrading passa con disinvoltura da atmosfere rock al soul pianistico dove mette in risalto la sua voce profonda. Si respirano anche atmosfere tra il funky e la dance di gran voga in quegli anni. I suoi testi spesso introspettivi non sono mai sopra le righe e la voce ora profonda e greve altre volte più sofisticata e ricercata Da menzionare anche la presenza tra i musicisti dei compianti Danny Federici all’organo e Clarence Clemmons al sax in vacanza dalla E-street band del Boss e di Anton Fig (innumerevoli le sue collaborazioni) alla batteria. La Armatrading si godrà per qualche anno il successo che gli porterà questo disco, continuando a produrre lavori in grande quantità, per poi ritornare nell’anonimato massmediatico .

Ark è il secondo disco dopo la reunion del gruppo ed è purtroppo il canto del cigno della band intesa come tale.

Album deludente, lontanissimo dai fasti anni 60.

La voce di Eric è sempre bella ma quello che manca è la magia di un tempo. Tempo passato inesorabilmente.
